Matt Banham began writing and recording songs in his bedroom. He released CDRs like "Girls are the Devil", "The Chelsea Theatre EP" and "Learning to Write Hate Songs" before his first official release on Unstable Ape Records, "Monkey on a Rock" 2003. MOAR launched 2 Triple J 'hits' and a whole bunch of tours upon which Matt befriended other DIY artists like Phil Elvrum (Mount Eerie, The Microphones) who would eventually record a duet with Matt on the new album "Too Much or Not Enough".

In 2005 Matt decided he was lonely on the road and formed a 6 piece band made up of Adelaide's finest band nerds. You should check out their various 'other' bands, Straight to Video, Fake Lake, The Backfeed Slumber, The Laybacks, Birth Glow, Matt's little Brother, Ianto Ware and even Matt's side project, Women Moving Furniture.

In 2006 they recorded "Too Much or Not Enough" - half in the studio, half in Matt and Nic's bedrooms. This album is now enjoying a 2007 re-packaging and re-release with 8 bonus tracks including new singles "The Next Bob Dylan" and "Crush This Town", which hit spot rotation on Triple J radio in June 07.
