A collection of mainly unreleased and rare tracks from around the Melbourne scene – 42 tracks packed over two themed discs.
At the end of 2003, 42 Australian artists contributed music toward a benefit cd designed to raise awareness and also funds for the hospital crisis in Iraq. The crisis having escalated greatly due to the unnecessary and brutal invasion on Iraq at the hands of the Coalition of the Willing – a fruitless and miscalculated search for weapons of mass destruction. The casualty rate as a result of this invasion stands at 55,000, the injury and suffering rate far higher.
The 42 artists involved with this benefit CD were opposed to the actions taken by the Coalition, especially Australia’s military involvement in the invasion. All proceeds from the sale of this CD will be donated to non-government organizations working in Iraq to deliver medical and hospital supplies in cooperation with the Victorian Peace Network. It is hoped that the proceeds raised from the benefit CD will ultimately result in lives saved.
